Approximate
The trail or general feature is named; the original camera position is withheld.
Area only
Only the broader landscape or road corridor is shown.
Private
Sensitive, uncertain, or owner-restricted locations do not appear in the public repository, map data, image metadata, HTML, or generated build.
Metadata
EXIF is evidence, not editorial approval.
Public image derivatives are rewritten without embedded GPS. Original coordinates remain outside the site repository and build pipeline.
Access
A photograph is not a current access report.
Land status, road conditions, weather, permits, fees, and closures change. Every visitor must verify current rules with the managing agency.
Navigation
A marker is orientation, not instruction.
PerchPoints does not publish tracks, turn-by-turn directions, off-trail routes, or claims that a camera position is a safe destination.
Stewardship
Some places are better left unindexed.
Archaeological sites, fragile terrain, private property, and uncertain records stay out of the public collection entirely.
